A NOTE FROM THE ARTISTS
The artists of Ferocious Lotus created the work for Carnal before the mass shooting and murder of eight people in Atlanta, GA — six of whom were women of Asian descent. This, along with the attacks on our elders in San Francisco, Oakland, and other US cities, has shaken our community in deep and very personal ways.
In light of these events, we see the work of Carnal through a new lens. Our work to represent and humanize the AAPI community feels so much more urgent and necessary — our work will always be in service of this mission.
We hope you can hold us up as we perform and share with you our vulnerable work. Know that we are doing this through pain and grief, but also with hope.
